Trying To Sell a Timeshare Not an Easy Task

Sell a Timeshare
Selling Timeshares
Nearly all timeshare owners seek to sell a timeshare eventually. Most owners want to simply get out of their contract, but they are in such a difficult financial position that they must attempt to sell their timeshare in order to make some money back to pay the large hidden fees. This desire to sell can come from lifestyle or personal changes, but it typically occurs due to financial burden and hardship. The great majority of timeshare owners seek to sell a timeshare because of the massive hidden fees and high maintenance costs.

However, as many timeshare owners soon learn, this process overwhelmingly frustrating. Many owners seek to sell their timeshare because they were promised that this purchase was a wise investment by fraudulent salesmen at a timeshare presentation. However, this is very far from the truth, and owners quickly realize how difficult it is to properly sell a timeshare, even at a fraction of the value.

When it is discovered how difficult it is to actually sell, timeshare owners want to simply get out of their contract. This is usually easier than selling a timeshare, but is still not a simple undertaking. Timeshare laws are in place to protect the timeshare resorts, and the key to these laws is the timeshare contract, which is a legally binding document. So if you are a timeshare owners who is looking to sell, there are a few things you should know about the process.

The Market For Selling Timeshares

As mentioned earlier, selling a timeshare is a very difficult undertaking. Timeshare representatives mislead customers at presentations to get consumers to blindly sign their contracts. In reality, the market for timeshares is extremely depressed because many owners are seeking a way out of their timeshare contract and buyers are few and far between. This is because the public is largely aware of the dangers of timeshare ownership. When selling a timeshare, you must first accept that you will not turn a profit on your timeshare.

Timeshare owners must then learn the market and price their timeshare effectively if they ever hope to sell. Timeshare owners must note that in order to sell their timeshare, most have to be priced at about half their original value. Unfortunately, this does not guarantee success, as a timeshare buyer is extremely rare.

Timeshare Fraud

Fraud Is the Name of the Game In the Timeshare Industry

Timeshare fraud is a very interesting, yet horrific truth in our society. Consumers often wonder why the timeshare industry is so successful, expanding even, when fraud is so prevalent in this dark subset of the real estate industry. This is a good question, because timeshare fraud is both the reason that the industry is so profitable, and at the same time is the reason why the consuming public is so leery of getting involved. Timeshare fraud is the reason the market is so depressed for selling timeshares, concurrently being the reason why so many need to cancel their own timeshare ownership.

The Double-Edged Sword Of Timeshare Fraud

Timeshare Fraud
Timeshare Fraud
If you are visiting our Timeshare Consumer Bureau, you may already know why timeshare fraud is a good and bad thing for resort owners. Let’s start with the bad. Why did you originally sign the timeshare contract? There is little doubt it was due to timeshare fraud, because if you were told the truth about the industry, there is no way your signature would be on that legal piece of paper. Timeshare fraud occurs most heavily at the the timeshare presentation, where you were most likely bullied, pressured, and most importantly, lied to. Timeshare fraud is good for these companies because that is how new timeshare owners are created.

Timeshare fraud is bad for these deceitful swindlers because this is how timeshare owners escape the horrors of timeshare contracts. A great majority of timeshare owners escape their timeshare contracts because they are able to easily prove that they were the victim of timeshare fraud, and thus the contract is invalid. We have a long history with the industry, and have seen more timeshare fraud than we care to speak of. However, we are happy to share it with you, because it means you can escape the fraud that has left so many American consumers in a financial prison.

Westgate Timeshare Reviews

The Worst Timeshare Reviews Yet

Westgate timeshare reviews are overwhelmingly negative, but this is not uncommon within the timeshare industry. Even large and otherwise respectable hotel giants have terrible timeshare reviews due to the nasty nature of the business.. However, Westgate Resorts have some of the worst reviews on the internet, irrespective of industry. In fact, our research could barely find a single positive review for Westgate Resorts, a very rare occurrence for any online forum.

Westgate Resorts was formed in the 1970’s in central Florida, and has since expanded into the largest privately held timeshare company in the world, with forays into other aspects of real estate as well. So what makes Westgate timeshare reviews so profoundly horrible? The key to Westgate timeshare reviews is the rampant nature of underhanded sales tactics. While Westgate does, of course, have negative marks for hidden fees and financially devastating contracts, apparently their sales tactics are just that much worse than even other timeshare companies of a similar nature.

The Common Thread In Westgate Timeshare Reviews: Targeting the Elderly

Westgate Timeshare Reviews
Westgate Timeshare Reviews
Westgate Resorts is centered in Florida, which has a very large elderly population. Perhaps the most shocking aspect found in these timeshare reviews is how their salesmen specifically target the elderly as potential targets for signing contracts. Taking advantage of the elderly is replete throughout the Westgate timeshare reviews, and their underhanded and pushy salesmen apparently lie outright in order to receive contract signatures.

One woman who was recently scammed wrote in her own timeshare review that their salesmen told them that the city was building a water park right next to the resort. After the contract was signed, she learned that there were no plans to build a water park whatsoever. This is just one example of outright lies and other horror stories found throughout Westgate timeshare reviews.

How To Sell a Timeshare

Why Selling Timeshares Is Such a Difficult Task

Almost every timeshare owner eventually comes to the conclusion that they need to get out of a timeshare, and most want to receive some money for their investment. This is why so many owners want to try to sell a timeshare. Timeshares are massive financial burdens that leave many owners broke and searching for a way to get out. The first step is realizing that you are not alone, many other timeshare owners have been through this before. However, learning how to sell a timeshare is much easier than actually being able to do it.

While we fully understand that many timeshare owners want to see a return on their investment, selling a timeshare is a monumentally difficult task. Attempting to sell is indeed an option, but accomplishing this is extremely difficult and takes patience and knowledge. We recommend learning as much as possible about how to sell a timeshare, because this process is so grueling and potentially costly.

Why Is Selling a Timeshare So Problematic?

Sell a Timeshare
Selling Timeshares
There are a few reasons why selling a timeshare can be so difficult, including but not limited to restrictions in the contract, advertising effectively, and pricing the property appropriately. However, by far the most difficult aspect of getting out of a timeshare by selling is the extremely depressed market for timeshares.

The consuming public knows full well how dangerous timeshares can be, and most potential buyers will stay as far away from timeshares as possible. This is the primary reason that selling timeshares are so difficult, because it is a brutal market. Even at a low price, the burdensome contracts and large hidden fees are enough to keep buyers away when you are attempting to sell. This means that a timeshare owner must typically wait an incredibly long time to get out of a timeshare by selling. To make matters worse, if a sale ever does come, it will likely be at an extremely reduced price and the cost/benefit of selling the timeshare will not be worth what it would take to get out of a timeshare by other means. We recommend utilizing an outside agency that will help you cancel a timeshare contract rather than trying to learn how to sell a timeshare on your own.

Florida Governor Signs the Timeshare Resale Accountability Act

A Breakthrough In Bringing Timeshare Scams To Justice

Timeshare News
Florida Timeshare Scams are In Trouble
Florida which has been wrought with timeshare scams and fraud for many years, has finally taken a bold stance against these injustices. While this occurred in June, many timeshare owners are not aware of the law’s recent passing, and should be notified that this is wonderful, unprecedented progress against an industry that has scammed timeshare owners for years.

Florida Governor Rick Scott held a prominent ceremony to celebrate a stance against timeshare resale scams, and many ecstatic timeshare owners were in attendance. The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) has applauded the move against all those who seek profit by taking advantage of timeshare owners who have been scammed once, and should never be again.

The timeshare resale business is a bloated industry that has ironically become an entity that preys on the very consumers that they were formed to protect. Many timeshare owners want to sell or get out of their timeshare, and this industry was formed to help them overcome the titanic timeshare businesses and resorts that have placed them in a financial prison. However, deceitful scams have emerged that take advantage of this desperation and make bold claims and grand promises to this effect. This, in turn, allows them to make massive profits from already suffering timeshare owners while offering no actual help in return. It is a dastardly timeshare scam that has become much too prevalent.

The Timeshare Resale Accountability Act forces these companies to be much more transparent, drastically reducing the ability of these timeshare scams to surface. A few of these stipulations include the right for timeshare owners to get out of resale contracts, forces resalers to disclose all terms and conditions explicitly, and enforces harsh punishments upon any resale company that has engaged in underhanded tactics. This greatly boosts the ability of timeshare owners to recognize they are being scammed while discouraging any potential scammers from attempting to make a profit from the misery of those lured into timeshare contracts. June 25th, 2012 was a great day for Florida, and a devastating one for timeshare scams.

How Timeshare Consumer Bureau Fights for You

Timeshare Complaints
Timeshare Complaints
We have recently spoken at length about the importance of timeshare reviews and the community we are creating with our timeshare forums, but we would like to remind every visitor to the Bureau about our timeshare complaints services. In fact, timeshare complaints drive everything we do here, and we want to hear every single gripe you have with the timeshare industry. An even more effective weapon is a timeshare complaint against a specific resort, for these are combined with similar stories to create a powerful force for change.

Many timeshare owners feel defeated, that their timeshare complaints will fall on deaf ears. Some owners feel like their complaints are unwarranted, that because their name is on a piece of paper, they have no reason to submit a timeshare complaint. We behoove you to reconsider, as it is likely that your timeshare contract was signed under severe distress, and even more so under false pretenses. Timeshare salesmen force consumers to sign their contracts through fraud and misrepresentation, and there is no greater cause for a timeshare complaint.

This may seem obvious, but many consumers feel like their timeshare company has legitimate legal recourse against them. This may be the case, but the level of fraud involved in the signing of these contracts nullifies any type of binding agreement. Your timeshare complaints are nearly always valid, and you should at least have the ability to speak your mind and receive advice from experts regarding your problem. This is exactly what we do, but we need to receive your timeshare complaints in order for us to help! There are likely many timeshare owners who have had similar complaints, and their knowledge and experience will help you immensely as you navigate the treacherous waters of timeshare ownership.

At Timeshare Consumer Bureau, we do all we can to help consumers understand the pitfalls of timeshare ownership, but your own timeshare reviews are absolutely necessary for us to truly take a powerful stand. Your experience with the timeshare industry was likely negative, but we want to hear about any positives as well. Not every member of the timeshare industry is a heartless monster, and most do not want to see their clients suffer. If a timeshare company has allowed you to get out of a burdensome contract or has made concessions due to a particular set of circumstances, we want to hear about it! If you have has a positive experience with a resort or company, we want to hear that timeshare review more than anything, because they are indeed quite rare.

A Consumer Warning

Timeshare Reviews
Timeshare Reviews
Positive timeshare reviews are extremely rare because in this industry, profit reigns supreme, often at the expense of the consuming public. Positive timeshare reviews can provide tips for other timeshare owners in similar situations. However, negative timeshare reviews are equally important, because they serve as a warning towards your fellow man. If you could go back and be warned against signing a timeshare contract, your current situation would likely be much better. We are trying to create a community where we all look out for each other, and your timeshare reviews accomplish this in a way previously considered impossible. Please contribute to our community by submitting your own timeshare review today!

The Best Sources for Timeshare Aid

Timeshare Advice
Timeshare Advice
There are many conflicting reports of timeshare advice regarding where timeshare owners should seek help with their timeshare troubles. True help is out there whether owners need advice on how to get out of a timeshare, cancel a timeshare contract, or deal with hidden fees. However, this industry is difficult to navigate and requires some research beforehand.

Luckily, Timeshare Consumer Bureau is here to help provide the expert advice you need. There are many different paths to take, so the important first step is to outline exactly what your problem is. Hidden fees and rate hikes require legal knowledge for quality advice, and many lawyers and timeshare aid companies provide consultations for little or no cost. Unfortunately, these fees are typically written directly into the timeshare contract, so advice will not help you combat these issues.

However, most consumers know this and are simply fed up with the struggle and hassle of owning a timeshare and being bound by a contract. The great majority of timeshare owners looking for expert advice are really trying to get out of their timeshare. There are two main paths to take: seek advice from a reliable timeshare attorney, or a timeshare services company.

Timeshare lawyers offer expert knowledge, but they charge massive fees and deal with many clients. Furthermore, very few offer a guarantee of success. However, there are companies that offer services specifically related to timeshares, at a fraction of the cost of timeshare lawyers. These companies are fully staffed and employ legal teams to help you get out of a timeshare. In terms of price and effectiveness, our advice is to seek out one of these companies, of course ensuring that they are reputable and offer a guarantee of success.
