Do Not Be Swindled by a Timeshare Scam!

Arm yourself with Knowledge

The entire timeshare industry can be considered one huge scam. While this may seem like a very biased and overly exaggerated opinion, this statement has a very real element of truth to it. Timeshare resorts rope consumers into signing timeshare contracts through the alluring timeshare presentation. Once the timeshare contract is signed, there is no going back, and cancelling a timeshare can be a lengthy and hard-fought battle with the resort. While the hidden payments seem sleazy, and financial coercion is a horrible thing to endure, the timeshare contract is a legal document. So how exactly are timeshare companies conducting a scam on consumers?

The key to the huge timeshare scam is how the presentations are conducted. First of all, these presentations are scam in and of themselves, because they lure consumers in by offering a wonderful prize for attending a simple presentation. This seems innocent enough, but these meetings can be absolutely horrific. Often running much longer than promised, these timeshare presentations are filled with high-pressure sales tactics, misleading statements, and downright lies. Signing a legal document that can haunt you for years under false information can only be described as a scam. This timeshare scam perpetuates the entire industry, because if consumers truly knew how financially destructive the contracts actually are, very few would be signed. The entire thing can be classified as a timeshare scam, and one would be advised to avoid it altogether.

Getting out of the Timeshare Scam

Timeshare Scams
Timeshare Scam
The global timeshare scam is not an easy thing to escape from, but it can be done, and you have justice on your side. Because the contract was likely signed under false pretenses, the timeshare scam should be able to be undone. If this scam can be proven through explicit promises and fraudulent information received at the timeshare presentation, there is a way. With a strong will and a little help from a qualified company, you can defeat the timeshare scam.

While we are not one of these companies, we know a few that have great reputations and a long history of success in fighting timeshare scams. If you need some help in choosing the right company, please leave a comment or file a complaint about your own timeshare scam experience. It is time to fight back!

Help Expose Timeshare Fraud

Do your Part, Let your Voice be Heard!

Timeshare Consumer Bureau was created in order to provide a voice to those who believe they have none, to give power back to the people. Timeshare owners deal with rampant and widespread fraud that goes largely ignored by a country that stands on principles of freedom and fair trade. While the Federal Trade Commission, FBI, and consumer activists are finally taking a stand against timeshare companies and the fraud they commit on a near constant basis, there is still so much work to be done.

Timeshare fraud is a massive problem that affects the consuming public greatly. In an already struggling economy, timeshare owners are subjected to hidden fees, rate hikes, and financial coercion by timeshare companies. Furthermore, many of these timeshares were sold under fraudulent pretenses. The timeshare presentation has become filled with lies, half-truths, and sales pitches that constitute a majority of the existing timeshare fraud. Without these timeshare presentations that convince attendees to sign timeshare contracts, it is likely the industry would not exist. This makes timeshare fraud essentially the sole reason the industry thrives to this very day.

Standing Together Against Timeshare Fraud

Timeshare Fraud
Timeshare Fraud
Taking a stand against timeshare fraud only takes a tiny amount of your time, and can make a massive impact. This is especially true when the consuming public does this together. To fight back against timeshare fraud and create real change, it takes more than just one voice. This process requires many timeshare owners to expose the timeshare fraud, showing they are willing to take a stand.

Leave a blog comment, a resort review, or a timeshare complaint. All of these things only take a minute of your day and can have a huge impact on the effectiveness of timeshare fraud. As we begin to stand together, these fraudulent companies will see that they are not all powerful and are subject to the outcries of consumer outrage. Timeshare fraud is not going anywhere fast unless we do something about it.

Are there RCI Timeshare Scams?

10/24/2012

Is RCI really a Timeshare Scam, or just a Misunderstood Company?

RCI Timeshare Services
RCI Timeshare Scams
RCI timeshare scams are very well known throughout the internet review boards, and we have received several complaints against their company as well. Resort Condominiums International is a very well-known and massive timeshare exchange company that is often accused of scams. With nearly 4 million members with affiliates all across the world, it is logical that there would be some unsatisfied customers. However, RCI timeshare scams are some of the most talked about online, so this deserves some serious research.

So, the question becomes: is RCI really running timeshare scams on consumers? If you believe internet consensus, yes. RCI has been the subject of consumer outrage and timeshare scam accusations for many years. Consumers complain that RCI offers outlandish promises, makes fraudulent claims, and tells lies in order to scam customers into using their timeshare exchange service. Many customers believe that they are signing into something wonderful that will produce great results, a service that actually produces some value out of their timeshare. However, once the contract is signed, RCI becomes just another one of many timeshare scams.

One recent review had this to say about RCI timeshare scams:

“They will say yes to all your questions and after you sign and begin to try to use your points, you will realize that it is next to impossible, that the answers to all your questions are lies, and you will have spent thousands of dollars on something that you will never use. Unless you are extremely persistent, and even then you will never be able to use your points to go to Europe in the summer. PERIOD.”

Apparently, the bulk to RCI timeshare scams relate to an inability to actually utilize their service, all the while paying through the teeth for it. Taking money and offering little in return is common for timeshare companies. It seems RCI is engaged in timeshare scams, just like the rest of the industry.

How to Sell a Timeshare

Not as Easy as it Sounds

Many timeshare owners want to learn how to sell a timeshare, because timeshares often become financially unfeasible over the years. When the contract is signed, a consumer may feel like they are on top of the world. However, this quickly comes crashing down and selling a timeshare becomes a much more attractive option, in fact the only option. Hidden fees written into the contract, maintenance costs, and annual rate hikes bring many timeshare owners into financial ruin. Learning how to sell a timeshare soon becomes a major necessity, rather than just an option.

Timeshare owners are struggling across the United States and the entire world. Timeshares can be a money trap that cause foreclosure and even bankruptcy. This may seem like an extreme case, but this is far more often than new timeshare owners expect. Learning how to sell a timeshare often becomes extremely difficult as well, and for the exact same reason.

The consuming public is very cautious when it comes to timeshares because the industry has such a negative reputation. Because the public is cautious, there are very very few buyers on the market, despite what you were told at the timeshare presentation. Furthermore, there are many owners trying to sell a timeshare, so the market is flooded with timeshare options. This makes the whole process very difficult.

Patience, Patience, Patience

Selling Timeshares
How to Sell a timeshare
If you really want to learn how to sell a timeshare, the first thing you must learn is to forget everything you were told at the timeshare presentation. Timeshare salesmen will say anything to get you to sign a timeshare contract. This includes the major lie that timeshares are a great investment.

You must be patient when learning how to sell a timeshare. You must market the timeshare effectively and at a realistic price. Selling a timeshare takes some time, but with enough patience, a qualified buyer may emerge, freeing you from the burdens of timeshare ownership.

The Greatest Timeshare Scam of All

Timeshare Scams in Plain Sight

Timeshare Presentations
Timeshare Scams
In the Timeshare Consumer Bureau blog, we outline many of the top timeshare scams of the day for our fellow consumers. We do this because these scams are rampant throughout the industry, and consumers’ rights must be protected. The best way to be protected against these timeshare scams is by being aware of what is going on beneath your very nose.

If you have dealt with the timeshare industry, it is highly likely that you already know how bad the industry’s scams can be. There are timeshare resale scams, timeshare exchange scams, and timeshare scams written directly into the timeshare contract. How can you not argue that ever-increasing hidden fees are fraudulent and running a major scam on the consumer?

We argue that the greatest timeshare scam of all is right in front of our eyes, yet so few seem to see it. This timeshare scam is one that affects nearly all timeshare owners in some form or another. This timeshare scam is simple, and is the main reason why the industry is allowed to function and perpetuate itself. I am speaking about the scam of the timeshare contract, and the conditions under which it is signed.

The Timeshare Scam of the Ages

The only way timeshare contracts are signed is due to some form of scam, which usually takes place at the timeshare presentation. Owners are legally forced to make huge payments to timeshare companies long after they have decided that they have been caught in a financial trap. If consumers knew how bad and dangerous timeshare contracts are, they would never sign them.

However, these are signed every day, and this happens because consumers are scammed at the timeshare presentation. Attendees are told lies, misleading claims, and deceitful sales pitches in a high-pressure environment. This scam allows for thousands of new contracts to be signed every year. The biggest timeshare scam of all is the signing of the timeshare contract, the basis of everything in the industry.

Let your Voice be Heard with Timeshare Consumer Bureau

Timeshare Complaints
Timeshare Complaints
We receive plenty of timeshare resort reviews and blog comments regarding consumers’ miserable experiences with timeshare companies, but timeshare complaints can be just as effective as these published reviews. When asked why some timeshare complaints are not filed instead, the answers were quite shocking. Unfortunately, the consuming public is a little weary of submitting timeshare complaints, and we believe this is due in large part to the fact that the public does not know how they are used.

One common response to this question about timeshare complaints is that the owners feel that their complaint will fall on deaf ears. This is usually not the case, and is especially untrue in regard to Timeshare Consumer Bureau. First of all, if there is some kind of advice we can provide in response to your complaint, we will absolutely contact you with helpful information. With your timeshare complaint, we can advise you on how to move forward or recommend a qualified company that can help.

Timeshare Complaints and Anonymity

Some timeshare owners are in such fear of their company that they do not want to submit a complaint because they feel this will have negative repercussions. Nothing could be further from the truth. We do not report any timeshare complaints whatsoever, and take no action with your complaint unless you specify that you would like us to do so. There is no need to fear reprisal in response to any timeshare complaint. Ever.

So what are you waiting for? With your own timeshare complaint, we can provide valuable insight on how to move forward. Timeshare complaints have helped countless owners solve their timeshare issues. In special situations, timeshare complaints form a powerful message that can be used to stop timeshare companies from committing fraud and taking advantage of the consuming public.

New Reviews, Same Dirty Tricks

Westgate Timeshare Reviews
Westgate Resorts
Westgate timeshare reviews have often rated the lowest in customer satisfaction in the industry, and this has not changed one bit in recent months. Often the target of consumer backlash, Westgate Resorts have been known to employ all the dirty tactics that have made the industry so reviled. Bullying and pressure is commonplace during Westgate timeshare presentations, and their salesmen are known to be deceptive and cunning. Targeting the elderly with fast sales pitches and misleading statements is also common throughout recent Westgate timeshare reviews. This is nothing new, and these activities are not just carried out by Westgate. These sleazy maneuvers are seen throughout the timeshare industry, and Westgate is just a part of a much larger, fraudulent industry that has taken advantage of consumers for decades.

Recently, the CEO of Westgate resorts has become involved in another malicious and underhanded activity. David Siegel, who runs Westgate Resorts, has threatened to fire his employees if Obama is elected, sending shockwaves throughout his company. This should not be surprising, as this threat is indicative of the coercion that Westgate takes part in on a daily basis. We know, through Westgate  reviews, that this company brutalizes their clients. We just didn’t know they would do it to their own employees.

Greater Consumer Backlash Against Westgate

No matter your political affiliation, most agree that this is an egregious statement that should hold no place in an honest and benevolent company. We almost feel bad for Westgate salesmen, who seemingly must vote for Romney under threat of losing their jobs. However, after reading some Westgate timeshare reviews, this sympathy seems to fade, as we read story after story of misery on the part of timeshare owners. Ever-expanding hidden fees, maintenance costs, and annual charges fill these reviews as one notices a glaring and frightening trend. Westgate has extremely high levels of customer dissent and anger, and this can be seen in all levels of their corporation.

If you have your own Westgate timeshare review, please share with us on our resort reviews, community forum, or leave a comment right here on our blog. Sharing your experience will warn others against falling into this financially devastating timeshare trap.

Timeshare Season Brings Fresh Round of Timeshare Reviews

As Summer comes to a close, these are many developments within the timeshare industry that call for new timeshare reviews. These developments vary with the timeshare companies and specific resorts, but there are a few general things that occur. Timeshare reviews become more prevalent, because many families take their vacations in the summer, causing their experiences to be relived through their own reviews all across the internet. Secondly, Timeshare presentations spike during this time period, prompting many attendees to review their experiences on online forums and consumer activist websites. Finally, many owners are fed up with their timeshares due to bad experiences, so there is a great increase in the amount of consumers looking to get rid of their timeshare contracts.

All of these developments make this time of year both very exciting and very disheartening. Excitement comes from the year’s new batch of reviews, allowing us to see how things are changing in the industry. Timeshare Consumer Bureau takes special care to request new timeshare reviews and examine trends from other reviews from around the consumer forums. However, this can be very disheartening, as many of these reviews are negative and bleak. Many families are outraged over terrible vacation experiences and overwhelming timeshare fees. While the new timeshare reviews are very informative, they are also frightening.

Timeshare Help not Always what it Seems

Timeshare Resale Scams Preying on Timeshare Owners

Picture
Timeshare Scams
Timeshare fraud has been a cornerstone of the industry since its beginnings, but scamming those looking for timeshare help is a much more recent phenomenon. A highly profitable phenomenon that has gained so much traction, timeshare help has become an entire industry in itself. The business of offering timeshare help began as a noble idea. With many owners struggling, it made sense to launch a business that helps owners sell or get out of their timeshare contract. However, as more owners needed help, this industry exploded and became more and more diluted from the original groups that truly wanted to help timeshare owners. Very quickly, the industry began producing businesses that fully understood how desperate these timeshare owners were, and looked to take advantage of the situation. Now, we have an entire industry that preys upon those who are already reeling from sleazy timeshare resorts.

These fraudulent charlatans have infects a once proud industry that genuinely helped struggling timeshare owners. These companies make fantastic claims about how easily they could either sell their timeshares or help cancel the timeshare contract completely. Unfortunately, timeshare help scams either take the money and run, or do very little to remedy the situation. Owners can find themselves even worse off than before, and as the months turn into years, they realize that this organization was not offering any real timeshare help at all. Every desperate owner should be aware of this scam, and must do their homework if they want to find real timeshare help. Becoming a victim of a timeshare help scam is a lot easier than many owners think.

A Great Indicator for Timeshare Resale Scams

Timeshare resale scams have become the largest portion of this industry, and a great way to tell if a resaler may be trying to defraud you is by the way they approach the market. The salesman at the timeshare presentation likely made claims that you would be able to easily sell if the time came, but the reality is very different. The market for timeshares is extremely depressed, and even with a legitimate timeshare resale company, this process can take a very long time. Be very wary of any company that claims they will be able to easily sell your timeshare. This is a huge red flag for a timeshare resale scam. A resale company that will truly help you sell a timeshare will be more forthright about the realities of the market. Far too many timeshare owners have already been scammed when they were simply looking for timeshare help against a gargantuan industry, one with no signs of slowing down. Timeshare Consumer Bureau will always do everything we can to keep you informed and up to speed on the latest trends in the timeshare scamming business.

Surge in Consumer Backlash Evident in Current Westgate Timeshare Reviews

Picture
Westgate Timeshare Reviews
Timeshare Consumer Bureau has experienced wonderful community participation in recent days, and we want to take a moment and thank all who have posted a blog comment, filed a complaint, or left a timeshare review. Timeshare reviews are especially important, and add great knowledge and experience to our online consumer community. We also like to be very aware of the state of timeshare resort reviews from around the internet, and have recently become very aware of the rancor that has come out of many recent Westgate timeshare reviews.

One Westgate timeshare review was especially scathing, and outlined the terrifying experiences of a young military couple.

“By All means KEEP AWAY from WESTGATE. After returning to home from a tour in Iraq, my wife and I bought into this nightmare. It is a money pit and a scam. We used it once had a lot of problems... mainly what they sold us and what we actually get is two different things.”

While this is very broad, it is the general experience explained in many Westgate timeshare Reviews. More details of Westgate timeshare reviews include an inability to use their timeshares even a year in advance, massive fees, and a lack of responsivity in customer service.

General Consensus of Westgate Timeshare Reviews

As you may have guessed, the great majority of Westgate timeshare reviews are negative, and the consuming public is largely aware of their shady business practices. While many consumers do their research and know to stay away from these timeshares, Westgate continues to reap massive profits from new timeshare owners every single day. It would be wise to read as many Westgate timeshare reviews as possible to gain a fuller picture, a better consensus. If you have had your own experience with Westgate, good or bad, please submit your very own Westgate timeshare review today!
