Coercion from David Siegel and the Westgate Resorts

Westgate timeshare Review
Westgate timeshare Review
Westgate Resorts is the largest private timeshare developer in the entire world, and there have been many Westgate timeshare reviews since its inception. David Siegel, the owner of Westgate, is a very vocal and rich businessman who was recently in the news for threatening to fire his employees if Obama was elected. While this has certainly had an effect on his business and his employees, this is being felt throughout the timeshare industry, and most recently in Westgate timeshare reviews across the internet.

It seems as though consumers are not too happy with Mr. Siegel, and this is prevalent in nearly every Westgate timeshare review that has recently been posted online. It seems as though his threats have not gone unnoticed by his employees, as his sales force has ramped up the aggressiveness in recent days. Many consumers leave Westgate timeshare reviews that expose the company for using the hardest-selling tactics in recent days, unlike any they have experienced before. While these aggressive sales pitches are not limited to Westgate timeshare reviews and are certainly nothing new, they have gotten significantly worse in recent months.

The Queen of Versailles

Furthermore, there is an independent film coming out that documents the building of what would have been the largest house in the country by David Siegel, in which he has made some pretty outlandish claims. The movie represents Siegel as taking credit for the election of George Bush, and the filmmaker is now being sued for defamation. Considering Siegel’s recent comments, this is not all that surprising.

In any case, Westgate has suffered the consequences, in both his employee satisfaction and online Westgate timeshare reviews. In our opinion, perhaps shutting his mouth every once in awhile might just be a good thing. Or perhaps hurting a notoriously aggressive timeshare company like Westgate resorts isn’t all that bad either.

New Reviews, Same Dirty Tricks

Westgate Timeshare Reviews
Westgate Resorts
Westgate timeshare reviews have often rated the lowest in customer satisfaction in the industry, and this has not changed one bit in recent months. Often the target of consumer backlash, Westgate Resorts have been known to employ all the dirty tactics that have made the industry so reviled. Bullying and pressure is commonplace during Westgate timeshare presentations, and their salesmen are known to be deceptive and cunning. Targeting the elderly with fast sales pitches and misleading statements is also common throughout recent Westgate timeshare reviews. This is nothing new, and these activities are not just carried out by Westgate. These sleazy maneuvers are seen throughout the timeshare industry, and Westgate is just a part of a much larger, fraudulent industry that has taken advantage of consumers for decades.

Recently, the CEO of Westgate resorts has become involved in another malicious and underhanded activity. David Siegel, who runs Westgate Resorts, has threatened to fire his employees if Obama is elected, sending shockwaves throughout his company. This should not be surprising, as this threat is indicative of the coercion that Westgate takes part in on a daily basis. We know, through Westgate  reviews, that this company brutalizes their clients. We just didn’t know they would do it to their own employees.

Greater Consumer Backlash Against Westgate

No matter your political affiliation, most agree that this is an egregious statement that should hold no place in an honest and benevolent company. We almost feel bad for Westgate salesmen, who seemingly must vote for Romney under threat of losing their jobs. However, after reading some Westgate timeshare reviews, this sympathy seems to fade, as we read story after story of misery on the part of timeshare owners. Ever-expanding hidden fees, maintenance costs, and annual charges fill these reviews as one notices a glaring and frightening trend. Westgate has extremely high levels of customer dissent and anger, and this can be seen in all levels of their corporation.

If you have your own Westgate timeshare review, please share with us on our resort reviews, community forum, or leave a comment right here on our blog. Sharing your experience will warn others against falling into this financially devastating timeshare trap.

Florida Governor Signs the Timeshare Resale Accountability Act

A Breakthrough In Bringing Timeshare Scams To Justice

Timeshare News
Florida Timeshare Scams are In Trouble
Florida which has been wrought with timeshare scams and fraud for many years, has finally taken a bold stance against these injustices. While this occurred in June, many timeshare owners are not aware of the law’s recent passing, and should be notified that this is wonderful, unprecedented progress against an industry that has scammed timeshare owners for years.

Florida Governor Rick Scott held a prominent ceremony to celebrate a stance against timeshare resale scams, and many ecstatic timeshare owners were in attendance. The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) has applauded the move against all those who seek profit by taking advantage of timeshare owners who have been scammed once, and should never be again.

The timeshare resale business is a bloated industry that has ironically become an entity that preys on the very consumers that they were formed to protect. Many timeshare owners want to sell or get out of their timeshare, and this industry was formed to help them overcome the titanic timeshare businesses and resorts that have placed them in a financial prison. However, deceitful scams have emerged that take advantage of this desperation and make bold claims and grand promises to this effect. This, in turn, allows them to make massive profits from already suffering timeshare owners while offering no actual help in return. It is a dastardly timeshare scam that has become much too prevalent.

The Timeshare Resale Accountability Act forces these companies to be much more transparent, drastically reducing the ability of these timeshare scams to surface. A few of these stipulations include the right for timeshare owners to get out of resale contracts, forces resalers to disclose all terms and conditions explicitly, and enforces harsh punishments upon any resale company that has engaged in underhanded tactics. This greatly boosts the ability of timeshare owners to recognize they are being scammed while discouraging any potential scammers from attempting to make a profit from the misery of those lured into timeshare contracts. June 25th, 2012 was a great day for Florida, and a devastating one for timeshare scams.

Marriott Timeshare “Spinoff” Nearing Completion

The New King of the Timeshare Industry

Marriott Vacation Club International already wields a massive amount of power in the timeshare industry. Due to Marriott’s success in the hotel business, they already have boosted credibility that lends legitimacy to their own deceptive timeshare business. Marriott timeshare reviews are indicative of the entire timeshare industry, expressing fraud and misrepresentation throughout the process.

While Marriott’s timeshare facilities may be beautiful and well-kept, timeshare owners are still overwhelmingly unsatisfied and angry at Marriott timeshare management, and it looks like things are about to get much worse. The timeshare program currently in place is under the umbrella of Marriott Vacation Club International, but that will soon end. Marriott is breaking out from under this umbrella, forming a stand-alone timeshare company that will, upon its creation, be the largest timeshare resort company in the world.

Good or Bad News for Timeshare Owners?

Picture
Marriott Vacation Club International
This new timeshare company will likely operate in a very similar fashion to the program already set in place. Marriott timeshares are known for high-quality facilities as well as deceptive sales strategies and large hidden fees. Furthermore, Marriott timeshares are notorious for unavailability, so much that families can rarely use their own timeshare year to year.

At first glance, this new timeshare titan looks like very ominous news. By focusing completely on timeshares, it is likely that many new timeshare owners will soon sign contracts and fall into the timeshare trap. However, this company will no longer be under the umbrella or Marriott Vacation Club International, which means a part of their legitimacy will evaporate. They still hold the name “Marriott,” so only time will tell how this major business development will affect the timeshare market.

If you own a Marriott timeshare, how do you feel about this impending business shift?
