Timeshares need to be looked up as a purchase and not an investment. Regardless of how timeshares are presented, they don´t perform as well as a house or stock investment. If you look around the resale market for timeshares on websites like EBay, Redweek, or TUGBBS will find that you can buy a timeshare for far less money than what the first owner purchased it for.

I agree completely. Some are honest enough not to make claims of capital appreciation. I own at a luxury resort on Barbados that sanctimoniously claims to be above all others in every way, saying that owners achieve great returns upon resale. The truth is that I've been trying to sell for six hopeless years, and know other frustrated owners who have even gone so far as to donate weeks to charity. To conclude, they're all the same, just some are more honest than others. NEVER buy any of these things as an investment, and don't even think of financing. Take it from me: if any of these outfits even hints at capital gains, start running and don't look back!

I suggest you give some background and credentials on your organization. Timeshare Consumer Bureau seems at least as shadowy as some of the companies you collect complaints about.

Good request Antoine. At this time, we are simply a forum for timeshare consumers to share their stories and bring light to the various pitfalls of timeshare ownership. The site needs to be updated to reflect this stance.

I own 63500 points in Florida. CWR was taken over by Festiva in 2012 and cut my points by 42%. When I refused to pay Maint Fees they threatened legal action
I said bring it on
Then RCI wanted me to pay Membership Fees and I saidsaid I will pay when my 63500 points are restored
They are threatening legal action and I said bring it on. I am 65 years old have worked hard all my life damned if I am going to let these scammers get one over on me
What I cannot understand is why so many RCI members just whinge and are not prepared to take them on. I am prepared to go to jail if necessary. Anybody want to join me or do u just want to roll over.

Ok guys I have asked for and never received any referrals to legitimate help getting out of a time share. You clearly state, "contact us directly and we will give information..." you have never done so.

I made the big mistake of signing up & buying into Wyndham timeshare. After this third time of them using their slick sales tricks and lies I've discovered how much the lie and mislead people. I'm trying to get out of my Wyndham timeshare and was contacted by Timeshare Compliance about getting us out completely but it cost a lot. I'm skeptical if what this company claims really cost what their charging. Can someone provide me detail information on how or who can help me get out of this timeshare without damaging my credit & avoid any tax penalty?
