The Same Dirty Tricks as all Timeshare Scams

Starwood Timeshare Reviews
Starwood Timeshare Reviews
Starwood is a global timeshare company in the mold of Hilton and Marriott timeshares in that they are all also global hotel giants. Starwood timeshares is under the same umbrella corporation as such renowned hotels as Westin and Sheraton, which are fantastic resorts located in pristine locations. Much like Marriott and Hilton timeshares, Starwood reaps the benefits of the grand reputation and position these companies enjoy in the hotel business. However, Starwood timeshare reviews are plagued with the same complaints as these other timeshare companies as well.

While Marriott and Hilton are notorious in the timeshare industry for outrageous pricing and an inability to book a reservation months in advance, Starwood timeshare reviews focus on rate hikes and hidden fees more than anything else. Many Starwood timeshare reviews complain of an aggressive payment policy that becomes increasingly expensive every single year. Timeshare owners sign up with Starwood believing they will be paying a reasonable amount for their resort destination. Nothing is further from the truth.

One particularly angry Starwood timeshare owner posted in his review that he had signed a contract where fees were originally $1,300 per year. Starwood timeshares has raised his fees to over $2,500 a year, and have no intention of slowing down. Starwood timeshare reviews paint a disturbing picture for any timeshare owner, and these stories should serve as a major warning to potential victims.

My wife and I bought a Timeshare from Starwood at the PGA Village 5-6 years ago and fees were very reasonable at $289 a year back then. They have soared to almost $1100 a year now, which is rediculous. BUYER BEWARE is all I can say.

My husband and I were targeted on our honeymoon in 2011 at the Westin Ka'anapali where we stupidly purchased a timeshare. Absolute worst decision we have ever made. I have paid over $20,000 on it...have $24,000 left and have never used it. Interest rate is so high that my principal never goes down. Promised us we could sell our week for a profit...I can't even sell my week at a severe discount. Maintenance fees increase every year. Promised us we could make a profit selling our additional time with Interval International. When I called them, they said this was illegal to sell for a profit and that they would take legal action on us if they found this to be true. I've tried everything to get out of this horrendous financial burden...looks like we will be foreclosing on the timeshare to make this nightmare go away. DON'T EVER BUY A STARWOOD TIMESHARE!!!!

We purchased a non existent Timeshare at the Nanea Resort Villa, Maui, Hawaii. that is yet to be built, The salesperson said it was an investment. I was unable to view the Nanea Resort Villa Planned area of the unbuilt property, as I was on meds and having intense knee pain. The sales agents assisted me in opening a SPG Credit Card on their KIOSK, for them to charge the explained maintenance fee and taxes or whatever they chose. I called Monday the first week after the purchase to the Mortgage Company. They said this was a Down Payment. We have tried to rescind contracts and ask for a refund. we have been shuffled from agent to agent this past month with a lot if frustration. We were not allowed to review the contracts before we signed. We were not told we had 7 Business days to rescind the contracts. We could not view the actual non existent property. The sales price was changed at the last moment as the contracts were being told to us quickly by the salesperson. I have her original notes and the scratching out and making a new price.
during the sale and signing of contracts. The assisted obtaining of the credit card, and charges were deceptive. We are still in Contact with StarwoodVO Orlando, Florida. We want the contracts rescinded and our monies returned.
