Giving the Consumer the Run-Around Every Day

RCI Timeshare Scam
RCI Timeshare Scam
We have not spoken at length about the RCI timeshare scam in quite some time, so we would like to take the time to bring this fraud to your attention once again. In a recent post, we mentioned the need for more resort reviews, and your input on the RCI timeshare scam is very much appreciated. There have been recent reviews that are scathing and tell a tale of deceit, fraud, and most prevalently, the run-around.

The RCI timeshare scam is not alone in giving the consumer the run-around, in fact this is perhaps the most common tactic of a timeshare resorts. When timeshare owners have an issue or problem with their timeshare contract or vacation venue, they will call the resort, the company that is supposed to help them in their time of need. However, timeshare companies work very hard to make sure your issue is not resolved, or that your own resolve is not strong enough to stay on the phone listening to elevator music for several hours. In recent RCI timeshare scam reviews, it seems as though they make a point to do this with as many customers as possible.

Details Of the RCI Timeshare Scam

The main way the RCI timeshare scam works is by promising to deliver an easy service for exchanging timeshare services between customers. This sounds attractive to timeshare owners, because they would be allowed much greater flexibility with regard to their vacations, but it is the “RCI timeshare scam” for a reason.

In actuality, this service is extremely difficult to use, costing timeshare owners in the long run with massive transaction fees and a very low success rate. Furthermore, RCI underhandedly implies that they can even help you sell your timeshare when nothing is further from the truth. One look at the reviews for the RCI timeshare scam and you will see that this company is one that you should stay as far away from as possible.

Watch out for RCI. They will continue to send you bills even long after you have cancelled your membership. And yes, it is almost impossible to make bookings.

Timeshare in Mexico is recognized under the laws of the Mexican Republic as an available way to obtain rights to use real state. Nevertheless, the timeshare salesmen are commonly aggressive with their sales tactics; intimidating people and pushing them to acquire a timeshare, without letting them know all the disadvantages and responsibilities that getting a timeshare property might take. Once they’re being misleading by not telling you such things or evading important questions, that trade becomes a Mexican timeshare fraud.

Thousands of International travelers, particularly from the US and Canada, have fallen victims of timeshare fraud while vacationing. Resort developers hire skilled salesmen to represent their timeshares as many different attractive packages, such as financial investments, deeded properties, or vacation clubs, just to increase their sales.

Good luck with RCI. They may have an extensive network, but seem quite unable to get us the accomodations we have looked for even when we've tried to book many months out. Also, when we did book something in the northwest, they added a "protection fee" of $49 per unit which they refused to refund.

My experience with them has been that IF they can get you what you want then there might be some advantage. However, they are masters of adding charges for all sorts of things. My feeling is that when you get past the marketing glitz, they're kind of a cheesy company to deal with. Do not expect great customer service -- it doesn't exist there. DO expect that they will work very hard to extract every last dollar they can from you.

Bring your checkbook - you're gonna need it!

Just lost £700 on a scam through RCI on a supposed good deal on a 7 day Stay/Cruise it is sold as a "package" even though no details of WHERE you are going has been discussed? Plus you can take it upto 2 years after paying? It is done through the USA not the England Offices. My circumstances dramatically changed since January thus year when l booked thus holiday after a Sales person on my phone for more than one house with his Sales techniques! Be warned l gave gave even been in hospital on deaths door to escape this one! We have paid half of what we owe with no chance of ant refund. My Insurance is not interested due dispute & no actual invoices ever being issued? I give in. Had nasty phone calls threatening us with Legal costs to claim the full "package" with costs. With that & my illness it almost finished me off! Be warned other Timeshare users. My Timeshare complex went bust some 9 years back but RCI were still happy to take an annual fee even though we had no timeshare? Beggars belief.
