We had a Pacific Monarch Ownership which was paid off in full and the only thing we were paying for was the maintenance fees. We were utilizing the Pacific Monarch vacation at the time as my mom had falling and broken her hip. The sales people were aware of this as well as we needed to get out as soon as possible to go pick up my mom from the hospital. They told us that we were one of the owners who were not notified of the "owners meeting" regarding the Pacific Monarch Bankruptcy. They stated that since Pacific Monarch has filed Bankruptcy that Interval Exchange will not be exchanging points for vacations for any Pacific Monarch Owner. They told us they could put us in the "Diamond Resort family" and upgrade our membership with purchasing the timeshare all over again however that the points were accrued by using the Diamond Rewards Visa. If we used this card the rewards points would be a one to one exchange and we would be able to use them to pay off our maintenance fees with Diamond Resorts. Since we do not reside in CA and were on travel to take car of my mom's health situation we needed to get out of the presentation to go pick her up from the hospital. We went at 12:00 and didn't leave until 6:00pm. The paperwork handling was a joke as well and another story. We got home from my mom's stuff and went to go transfer the rewards points thru the Diamond Resorts Visa and we were told they could not transfer over to the maintenance fee and we were misrepresented. We now have 13,000 reward points and only into this Diamond Resorts for two months. We tried to discuss with the Executive Director & Quality Manager of the Capistrano Beach office and he informed us that his employees wouldn't state this and he will now give us the proper way to utilize the rewards. He & the quality manager would not resolve anything and just told us to enjoy our Diamond Resort membership but it looks like we won't under the circumstances. We asked to speak with the sales rep but they did not allow. When you go to these things they specifically don't give you the handwritten numbers and know how to protect themselves from their greed and conartist tactics.
We have requested to rescind our contract in writing or allow us to utilize the rewards points towards the maintenance fees as sold and presented to us. We have had no response to this letter and from what we have learned you can send letters to Timeshare companies but they will be ignored. Something has to be done to these conartist and fraudulent sales being done to people. Why are they so protected?

Diamond Resorts bought Gold Key in Virginia Beach. Gold Key has 64 complaints with the Virginia BBB... then Virginia BBB wont take anymore complaints and reroutes to Las Vegas BBB that has WARNING NOT A COMPANY. This group is a fraud. They lied at point of sale, lied about 1099s issues, discount air fares and availability. Once we stopped paying and demanded cancellation, they then report to credit. I dont understand how a contract derived from fraud and lies is protected.
